What to wear in the show ring
Where do I get these things? All of these things can be found across the country at Greenhawk, or any other local tack shops. For cheaper pre-used items in Nova Scotia, we have access to consignment tack shops, or you can see what's listed on Nova Scotia Equestrian and Tack Exchange or kijiji. If you do not want to buy new equipment, no problem! You can arrange to borrow things from your teammates for the show. If this is the case, make sure you let us know before the show so that we can get it organized. Insurance Bring along your provincial health care information (card or your number) and your rider insurance (card or policy number). For riders who do not have rider insurance, it can be purchased here through the Nova Scotia Equestrian Federation. Relax and have fun We wake up early and it's a long day waiting for your class. Although this is a competition, our main aim is to have fun and be there for each other. Bring some road trip music, bring snacks and bring a smile. |
Warm clothes reminder
A reminder that our show season is during the winter months, and the venues don't always have heat. Make sure you bring warm clothes. We can't stress this enough. It's usually freezing. Show days are very long when you're hours outside of Halifax supporting your teammates without proper warm footwear, pants and multiple jacket and sweater layers. Bring more than your show equipment or a basic hoodie and sneakers. You will need it. We also recommend winter boots, because cold & numb feet are common after standing on frozen ground all day. |
